Current FVC Fundraisers -Travelers 2008 Championship Golf TournamentFVC is thrilled to be a participating non-profit organization this spring in Travelers Insurance Company's "Birdies for Charity" and "Chip in for Charity" fundraisers. The "Birdies for Charity" fundraiser works similarly to a walk-a-thon. Interested individuals pledge support for a charity based on the number of birdies they expect will be made by the pros during the Travelers Championship Golf Tournament (average is typically 1500-2000 birdies). Pledges of as little as a penny can be submitted online with the selected charity receiving 100% of your pledge amount. Billing and pledge collection is handled by the Accounting firm of Haggert Longobardi. Please consider helping FVC by submitting a pledge no later than June 22nd at www.travelerschampionship.com/fundraisers.htm. Select the "Birdies for Charity Pledge" Button, then select "Farmington Valley Chorus - SAI" from the charity drop down box. Discounted tickets
(General Admission, Any One Day, Monday June 17 - Sunday, June 22)
are available through the "Chip in for Charity" fundraiser.
Simply contact any FVC chorus member, or call Debbie Griffith at 860-277-6567
to request your ticket(s). You'll receive a ticket for $20 (discounted
price) and FVC raises $10 for every ticket sold by the chorus.
Last summer the Farmington Valley Chorus competed in the 2007 Harmony Classic competition in San Antonio, Texas, where we placed second in the midsize chorus competition! We competed against choruses from the US, Canada, and New Zealand in this international competition of the top midsize Sweet Adelines choruses in the world. What an amazing experience! We are overjoyed with our silver medals! |
