FVC is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, and is located in Simsbury, Connecticut (Region 1).
Our Director
Cheryl
Wilcox became the director of FVC in 2002. Over 20 years of experience
as a Sweet Adeline have given Cheryl a strong building block on which
to base her skills as a new director. Her enthusiasm and love for the
barbershop style of music is both contagious and exhilarating.
Under her direction, the chorus has achieved several competitive highlights: winning the "Most Improved Chorus" award in 2004; finishing 2nd in the Region 1 midsize chorus competition in 2004, 2005, and 2007; and winning the midsize chorus competition as well as 2nd place overall in 2006, which led to an invitation to the Harmony Classic international contest in July, 2007.
Cheryl's personal accomplishments as a quartet member are many. Over the years, her quartet has won numerous Regional Competitions and placed as high at 11th at the International level. Her quartet, "Encore!", returned to International Competition in Las Vegas in October 2006 after placing first in the 2006 Region 1 competition.
